Making New Baskets for Tucson 2011

I am in the middle of the mud.. making porcelain baskets, pendants, boxes and beads for The Best Bead Show in Tucson. We leave Olympia late January and head out in RV for AZ. We will be visiting Marsha Hedrick near Phoenix to pit fire at her studio. Also look forward to visiting with Vlad who is in country for the same show. Marsha's miniatures and Native American art are so remarkable and Vlad's work is so colorful and folk inspired. Wow.

We anticipate the trip down the Oregon and CA coast with glee; also a few days in Palm Springs. We are staying at an RV park with Kim Fox our silver making friend so maybe we can get a few long talks in.

The new work is focused on little vessels that can be used as jewelry focals: baskets, boxes, purses,
cones, cylinders. Little architectural clay wonders. I really like creating them and I put lots of love and attention to the process. Also we will have some unusual cords that our customers have appreciated.

Look forward to Lincoln City, Gold Beach, Crescent City, Willets, Paso Robles, and all the other stops along the route. Have to thaw out the RV first and insure everything is working.

Happy Trails..
